Backstage Belles

Picture it: hairspray in the air, clothes flying, models lining up, the screaming of Kelly Cutrone, don't you just love it! It's backstage people and it is nothing short of anarchy.  Not that I would know but a girl can dream can't she? Second only to the fab runway pics by style.com are the moments captured backstage.  Here are just a few of my favorite from Fall 2011.

Invest to Impress

It's been too long dear belles.  But alas I have returned! As the le Jour de l'An has come and passed I have made some promises to myself that I will most definitely try my hardest to keep.  Of course I have your stereotypical pledge to get in shape and lose some MIZZOU L-B's but I also have a quest to seek the finest in my investment pieces in terms of my closet.  Now I have always been a quantity over quality in terms of clothes, however as I reach the second annual celebration of my 21st birthday, I find myself needing more sophisticated items.  Now I'm not saying I am going to turn my back on forever21, but it is my current mission to save my dollars for larger, more wiser purchases.  So as it stands, to impress I must invest.  Let me break it down...

{ #1 Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Sandal

 { #2 Calvin Klein Belted Sheath Dress }

{
#3 Hermes cognac belt }

{ #4 West Avenue medium Monogram Necklace }

 { #5 Burberry Trench }

{ #6 Loeffler Randall Demi-Wedge knee Boot }

{ #7 French Connection two tone blazer }

{ #8 Tom Ford Margaux Sunnies }

{ #9 Gilt Groupe is a FABULOUS place to find daily deal$ on Premium Designer merch,
like this TIBI faux fur belted coat, honestly most of my investment purchases will
most definitely be from my newest bookmark GILT.com }

{ #10 Who says all investment buys have to be boring? I die over ALL of the Lanvin
for H&M pieces. SHUT IT DOWN with this Banana Yellow asym frock }

Maxed Out Minimalism

Sadly i have been neglecting my poor belletristic, i blame senior year of college, which believe me is hard to even say out loud that i am indeed a senior in college. But on ward and upward lets talk fash, because after all that is the air we all breathe. Minimalism is a growing trend and one that i have never quite been able to duplicate.  Coco Chanel once said put on all of your accessories but remove one before you walk out the door, i tend to agree and i am almost always overdone, i'll admit it.  In a world full of colors and patterns and complicated seams and beadings, sometimes its refreshing  to retreat to the simplest form of beauty, minimalism.  These clothes are not attention-grabbing, but that's where their beauty lies.  [Simplicity] and luxury combine to elegant effect in the new pared-down chic.  Of course designers like Calvin Klein, Celine, Chloe and Stella McCartney are almost always using sleek linear lines, but other houses such as Gucci, Preen, Jil Sander and more...
